My name is Courtney Baysa. I’m a senior at the University of Hawaii-Hilo going for my Bachelor’s of Arts degree in History. My fiancé is Waiemi DelaCruz and he’s a student in the Culinary Arts program at Hawaii Community College. We met in high school and we began dating in 2012. In 2014, Waiemi proposed to me on our couch at my grandma’s house. We plan to get married in April 2018. Our goal right now is to have a zero waste wedding. May 2017 we plan to graduate from our respected colleges and branch out into the adult world. Waiemi wants to cook for a restaurant or hotel and I have no idea what I want to do for work. I am hoping that I can find something in our zero waste lifestyle that will point me in the right direction.
For the past few months, I had been looking into how we could change our lives so that we could positively impact the environment as well as become more healthy ourselves. This past February, I found the zero waste lifestyle from the blog Going Zero Waste. Now we are actively trying to live a more zero waste lifestyle. However, I’ve found it a little hard to find the right places to go to buy the right products. So I hope that in my journey I can figure out the best places to go for the right package-free products and share them with you so you can also find them and begin your zero waste journey.
